Project Title:

Dell Computers: VxRail Technology

Client: Hambone
Hambone's Owner: Justin Boh
Creative Director: Josh Swain
Animator: geologiq

geologiq helped Dell share how their VxRail technology lets companies upgrade their server rooms quickly, easily, and without stress.

:08 - Showing what's important to system administrators in a simple and beautiful way.

Animating this video gave us at geologiq our own "EUREKA" moment, allowing us to finally understand the video's content after animating for a couple days. This is a testament to the story plan laid out by the guys and girls at Hambone. To carry the torch forward, we had to keep chipping away at the complexity of the video content through very clear cause-and-effect relationships in the animation -- When VxRail is plugged into a server, a shockwave of upgrades and speed improvements emanate out from the center of the screen. When a change is made on a control panel, blips of information travel effortlessly through the honeycomb of server nodes, and a new node is created easily. When you are watching this video, keep an eye out for the different ways we visualize speed, upgrades, and the transmission of information.

Talking to people about servers can be difficult. That's why our animation had to help tell the story.

:27 - Our solution for showing Dell's systems plugging into a network -- An explosion of improvement!

This video is super dense with information. To help relax the audience and aid in understanding, geologiq had to focus on gentle movements that help whisk the audience to comfort.
